Problem and tips on using Projection Master?

hi,
I tried to use Projection Master to project a pattern on a cylinder but the results looks stretched and very jagged, like it lost quality when projected. Any tips or ideas why this is happening? In Projection master, I turned everything on beside color/materials.

thnx

i don’t use it that much, but i know the amount of polys the object has should be about the same amount of pixels the image has in order to get the sharpest results.

thanks for that tip. I know the document size for the alpha must be square to prevent warping… Do you know if it’ll help to align the objects that will be created into an alpha closer to the surface it’ll be applied to before making the alpha? I mean… i need a pattern object applied to a cylinder… would it help to arrange the pattern object to follow the surface of the cylinder first, then make them into an alpha… Or do does objects for the alpha lay relatively flat on a square document before the alpha is created?

projection master drops the model to the canvass and you work in 2D mode. if you’re trying to wrap a pattern around a cylinder, that might be very hard to do.

have you looked into spotlight to apply the pattern? it’s much more flexible.
