Primitives and 3D Polymesh

Hi there,

I seemed to notice then when I appended a new tool to an existing mesh and go to initialize, I am only given the option of “Qcube”, “Qsphere” etc.

How can I append a new tool but return to the primitives initialize options (with the options like: X size, HDivide)? I think I’m missing something.

Those options are only available with a parametric 3d object, selected from the tool menu, for instance “cube3d”. Once converted to a polymesh 3d object, you get the Initialize menu that will allow you to convert it to a cube, sphere, or cylinder with a more limited set of options.

When you append a tool, it appends as a PM3d object.

If you need those options, select the parametric tool first, and set the options to what you want THEN append the result as a subtool. The new Gizmo in R8 can also convert subtools to a number of primitives with more advanced interactive controls.
