Presenting ZBrush 4R7 (Updated with Summit Recaps)

Swampghost im joking…i hope that the release is “on time” this Fall how they said, if not…amen!!! and we wait the gem…

but the hope is the last to die…or not!!!

i have others things more important in my life, but this release is a gem that i would to have soon as possible…

i hope that pixo could give any info/update after the 21 dec if the new version will be not release

ok??? smile at life…and wait togheter the release

good xmas…

Church!

They won’t officially admit this of course, but somehow I’m thinking this is going to be the last free update.

Amirite?

This is a computer application. It will always have to revise and update for free, as do all the rest. Changes in different operating systems can cause instability, as well as upgrades in computer’s potential along with monitor’s resolution, and great software engineers will adapt as necessary for the evolution of the product and to keep customers happy and current.

Zbrush isn’t at ZB5 64bit yet…
To give a complete product update like ZB5 is EPIC! Because most companies will capitalize on complete product upgrades.

So it is expected for a revision to be free after purchase.

ZB4… ZB4R5… ZB4R6… ZB4R8

Maya 2014… Maya 2014 sp1… Maya 2014 sp2… Maya 2014 Ext1

Most of the time they plan to have these tools included but it’s tuff to release all ideas at deadline… or they discover problems, glitches, like with Yosemite…

I’m not speaking from a “what I know” perspective.
I’m speaking from a “common sense consumer expectation” type of perspective…

Just noticed the Pixologic store is down for maintenance. Will be back up 12AM PST. Hmmmmmm is this a sign?!!:o

They won’t officially admit this of course, but somehow I’m thinking this is going to be the last free update.

Amirite?

I’m betting they will start charging eventually. As long as they don’t charge a ludicrous amount, I’d be fine with that. Not that I would mind if the gravy train of free updates continued, obviously, but Zbrush is a pretty HUGE part of my livelihood and if it becomes unaffordable to me, I’m in trouble. I also really, really REALLY hope they don’t ever adopt Adobe’s Creative Cloud model. I really hate that “rent to own” crap.

A BIG part of the reason I bought Zbrush in the first place was “lifetime free upgrades” but I was told to go back and reread the wording. Apparently, “lifetime free upgrades” were never guaranteed. Like I said though, I (and probably most ZB users) would be okay with pay updates as long as they aren’t overly expensive.

As to “having more patience,” NO! I don’t want to have more patience! >8{ I want Zbrush NOW! Dem hard-surface tools! Holy !@#$%^&*! This update is going to be AWESOME for my 3D printing endeavors.

jajajajajajajaja that is the reason why the gem dont give an specific release date! Why? because we dont have this marvelous speculations, misunderstanding, delirious mind, etc,… in other case fall is followed by WINTER,OR NOT?
PS:big thanks Mahlikus The Black !

awwww booooo!!! That was a major DOWNER!

wtf 5 minutes ago was in maintenance…until 12 pst…boh!!!

wow

Maybe too many hits…we broke the site.

Just kidding…but there’s more excitement over this release than I’ve ever seen.

it’s gotta be close…so close…SO close.

Maybe it’s strange, but I enjoy ZBrush anticipation threads. :sunglasses:

To all zbrushers…-3:D cheers!

Noob question: My laptop’s monitor resolution can only go up to 32-bit. Will I be able to use the 64-bit beta version of 4R7? Quite frankly, I more than happy to upgrade to the 32-bit version. Just curious is all.

Either way, those hard surface tools look like they’re great to use. Can’t wait to try them out! I might actually never have to use Sketchup again, if they throw in an accurate measuring tool!

To run 64bit software you need a 64bit Computer with a 64 bit operating system.
