Preference Settings for Clean Install

Hi.

I have just made two clean installs of ZBrush on my new base station and my recently scrubbed laptop.

What are good settings to put in preferences?

Here are machine specs:

BASE STATION (Desktop)

Windows 7 Ultimate - Service Pack 1
Processor - AMD Phenom™ II X6 1045T Processor 2.70 GHz
RAM - 8.00 GB
System - 64-bit OS

TRAVEL STATION (Laptop) Dell Precision M6400

Windows 7 Ultimate - Service Pack 1
Processor - Intel® Core™2 Extreme CPU Q9300 @ 2.53 GHz
RAM - 8.00 GB
System - 64-bit OS

My old set-up used these settings:

ZBRUSH PREFERENCES - ‘MEM’
Memory: Compact Memory - 4000
Doc Undo : 10
Tool Undo : 10
MaxPolyPerMesh : 16.20
HDPreviewMaxPoly : 6.50

ZBRUSH PREFERENCES - ‘PERFORMANCE’
MultiDraw - On
MultiRender - On
MultiThreaded set to : 6
QuickAndDirtyEdit - On
QTransThreshold1 - .10
Background Proc - 0
MultiThreaded IO - On
TEST MULTITHREADING
High Priority - On
MEMORY

IMPORT/EXPORT
Turn on ‘iFlipY’ & ‘eFlipY’.

Thank you for sharing this. I have just reinstalled and updated my gpu. (Which totally deactivated my zbrush install… oops!) Zbrush newbie here and your settings totally helped my constant crashing. Could you post what kind of video card are you’re using on your base station? Also, is there a way to specify scratchdisk sizes?
