I’ve created a heightmap in ZBrush out of a square plane(modeling was restricted to the Y-axis). Now I want to grab the alpha and only the alpha so that I can then export it. So far I’ve tried GrabDoc and MRGBZGrabber but I haven’t been able to grab an alpha that only contains the plane without also grabbing part of the document too. In short, I’d like to set up a top-down view of the plane and grab an alpha of it at 512x512, 1024x1024, 2048x2048, etc., that fills the entire area of the grabbed image.
- Change your document size to 512x512.
- Draw your plane on the canvas and press F key so plane will fill canvas. Note: plane has to be square.
- Go to Alpha > Transfer and click ‘GrabDoc’ button.
- Export your alpha.
Do the same as above with other document sizes.
