Practice likeness Bruce Lee

I’ve haven’t been able to do likeness very well yet, but here is my latest try at it.

Bruce Lee Wutaaaah!

So far this is what I’ve got.

base-body.jpg

here is the base mesh for the body if anybody wants to play around with it.
It’s a very simple mesh with no detail.

All suggestions are welcome.

I’m using 3dMax for base meshes and retopologizing.

Zbrush and Photoshop for textures.

Zbrush for main detailing

hey thanks for that base mesh, il have aplay with that tomorrow. That head is looking good, il be checking back at this one. :+1:

bruce_lee.jpg Hi,
nice muscles and stuff but isn’t putting him in such a pose going to make rigging the guy if not impossible then just really fiddley?
nice edgeloops on the head- i noticed the top lip might have gone to tri’s- or they’re hidden behind- could cause problems at subD
also i think the torso is a little too european- if there is such a thing as a toned generic asian body- bruce never did have large muscles, built for speed kind of thing
remember ‘don’t look at the finger or you’ll miss all the heavenly glory’
hands and feet need work
love to see this finished as this is a good start
good luck

Hey, nice base mesh on the face. Looks well done for the picture shown.

tri’s aren’t an issue if they are not in places that move a lot. The splayed legs would be awkward to rig though.

Nice work on the face.
About the body…I think the head-body proportions are wrong.
Bruce wasn’t so tall (he was an asian), so I suggest you to shrink the body, and to make the long bones shorter.
This IMHO.

Thanks

The entire mesh of the head and body are 100% quads. The points on the top lip are just hidden.

The proportions for an Asian body are probably wrong.

I used a skeleton model off the net to create the base mesh.

I can fix that easily though, no biggy.

I haven’t touched the hands or feet yet.

Thanks for the critiques. :+1:

Womball, what do you mean by having problems rigging because the legs are spread out?

I’ve always seen it as a rule for best results to have them this way. I’m not a rigger though, so I don’t know if there is something wrong with this set up.
