Postapocalyptic Character - Marcus

Espetacular work!

Excelent Job!!!

Some very nice threads on this fellow. I especially enjoy how some of it, even though there are no colors yet, have the look of a thin cloth, and others look as though they could be rubber or leather.

I would love to zoom in on what appears to be an ‘H’ on a flashlight [electric torch]!

I wonder if you had considered more distress along knees and elbows, though? I find I always wear out my shirts and pants where the major joints are, and they also receive the most scrapes. Also, I don’t have a single pair of boots that doesn’t have toes scuffed, and in the choice of these boots, there is normally a steel safety toe showing through the leather.

Fantastic job! I know it won’t be long before you have another posting on the top row!

Great job man!

Thank you very much everybody, for your support and comments!:+1:

Thanks for some of the comments.
When I created the Marcus, I learned a lot of things that I will use next time, including yours advices.

many compliments - i like the juxtaposition of the wear-and-tear piecemeal salvage outfit with the higher tech survival gear hidden within the hood. so many perfect details.

any possiibility of a WIP or breakdown?

cheers,

matt

A question which may be obvious to many. Can I ask how this will be used? It’s amazingly great work. I love it and wouldn’t change a thing. However, I wonder how it will be used beyond rendering still images or as a concept piece.

I’m looking at this and thinking that to retop this for any game engine or animation rigging would be a monumental feat in itself unless you had a team working on it.

The reasons that I ask is that I’ve started to explore some of the great modelling tools in ZBrush that make things like this possible (Curve Tubes for lacework for example) and the idea of just freely sculpting something like this sounds wonderful but then what to do with the sculpt beyond posting it in ZBrush Central or a portfolio?

This is just about the greatest 3D character I have ever seen.

Thanks guys!!

There is project in preproduction. We are small team of indie developers, making FPS in our spare time. Marcus - is one of a story characters. So, there will be lowpoly ingame model.
Project is developing for NewGen - XBox One, PS4 and PC. So polycount will be high.

Beautiful sculpt Top row work for sure. What zbrush Mat did you use when sculpting him?

Yo dude,

First off amazing model. The detail is outstanding.

Just a quick question if I may, the cloth texture that’s on pretty much all the clothing, is that done using the noise maker? Or did you do it all by hand using alphas? I’m trying to create clothing at the moment and want to create this same, textile effect.

Can’t wait to see the in-game version of this. Thanks.

I used the noise maker only on the rope. Other elements have been made by hand, or with alpha brushes and using layers.

wow, this is great work. I love the detail.
