possible to export multi mesh brush meshes? unpack them? [Answered]

Hey,

So I created an insert multi mesh brush but didnt realise that it took the screen angle as the future placement angle. Also, I didnt save the meshes before exiting zbrush. I did however save the mutimesh brush. Now i need to edit the meshes in the brush or at least be able to reorient the meshes. is this possible?

is there a way to ‘unpack’ the meshes back to subtools?

cheers

You can use the Tool>Geometry>Modify Topology>MeshFromBrush button. Select the PolyMesh3D Star tool first because whatever subtool you have selected will be replaced. I’m afraid you’ll need to work through all the meshes in the brush one at a time.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply.
I shall give that a go first thing tomorrow

Hey,

I tried your suggestion and It worked just as you described. so Thank you
The only issue was that they came in at the angle set when creating the brush, ie the wrong angle.
So my workflow for this was to replace the star as you mentioned with the first mesh in the brush. Then I duplicated this and replaced the duplicate with the 2nd brush and so on. Now that I had all the meshes from the brush as subtools I could rotate one mesh using the deformation menu and then ‘repeat to other’ to align all the other subtools.

just putting that there incase anyone else has the same problem.

Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it.

Thanks for posting that and I’m glad you got it sorted.
