Possible to edit an exsisting MatCap?

Hi Guys,

I was working on one for some time earlier (saved it as always due to Crash-o-phobia). Is it possible to edit an exsisting MatCap?

Isn’t it a pity there’s no (easy) way to save out the 510x255 shading map via a button (since it has all that empty space to the right of the icon in the material palette).

Thanks for any info.

As far as I know, you can continue to change the material modifiers, but once you try to take more samples, it seems to overwrite your previous samples. Maybe I’m mistaken, there might be a button in the modifiers palette that allows you to continue sampling, but I don’t think so.

Yeah I’m getting just the same thing (it just starts over from scratch).

Would be nice if there was an ‘Edit Mode’ button that allowed you to edit current samples, or continue, etc. I’d love to see an update to the MatCap feature. It’s such an excellent part of the program.
