positioning alpha. How to?

When using projection master I’ve seen in tutorials they pick a brush and I guess they use the dragrect function to have their alphas projected onto the surface, but then they go in and move it around, scale it and whatever. Now I know you can edit it the same way that you edit your model, but it seems it goes much faster in training videos u find on the web. And I want to learn how to and which brush is preferrable when painting wrinkles with your alphas.

I hope you understand what I mean
happy time!

The built in Help tutorials show this. Load an alpha, set it to stencil, then hit space to get the controls. Enjoy. Everything that is Zbrush is in the Help tuts and the Practical Guide.

ok, really didn’t get everything. have to read up on stencils. and i was wondering on another way to controlling your positioning. like for intance if any brush work like that. some brushes you can scale with, but is there any brush where you can rotate around aswell?

thanks for the answer though!

If you are using Projection Master then try the Directional Brush. Set the Stroke to DragRect, switch on ZAdd, switch off the Texture and choose an alpha of your choice. You can rotate the alpha as you draw it. Also, once you’ve drawn your alpha the Rotate gyro is available. Note that there is an issue with using the gyro where the alpha can be lost if you switch back to the Draw Pointer. Switching tools without switching off the gyro solves this but as this is fiddly it’s best to position and rotate the alpha without activating the gyro.
