posing/resizing/moving zsketches in a scene?

Is there a way to scale whole zsketches if I load them into a scene together? how about wholesale moving as opposed to just moving of the zspheres with the brush? Rotating would be nice as well since the parent zsphere seems to be stationary and everything rotates around that.

Trying to use zsketching as a way to do some thumbnails for illustration work and this would be VERY useful. Anyone clue me in? <img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/upload/atn.gif”>

Yeah, you just have to go into Transpose mode and you’ll be able to translate your ZSpheres. If you want to move an entire ZSphere rig, then just grab the root ZSphere.

ok, I’m going to ask the dumb question then… How do I enter transpose mode? I’m sure the obvious is right in front of my nose but it’s just not clicking for me.

The Move, Scale, Rotate buttons in the upper left.

In the Zclassroom videos on Zspheres II. there is a video on binding your zsketch to your zsphere armature for posing.

I think you misunderstand what I’m asking Kerwin.

I want to be able to scale the whole zsketch while in a scene with another zsketch. I want to be able to move the whole zsketch to place it how I want it, or rotate the whole zsketch at one time.

I know how to pose them and bind them and all that, but I want to be able to place multiple figures in a scene and move them around that scene.

Thats a bit trickier.

When talking about a pure Zsketch, in Zsketch mode, you can Move or Scale the entire sketch by simply selecting the Move or Scale function from the shelf, sliding the focal shift to the left to make for no falloff, and zoom out and increase the brush size until you can fit the entire Zsketch under the cursor.

There are no functions for “rotating” the chains as there are with standard Zspheres that I am aware of. You simply manipulate them into position with the tools.

For a Zsketch that is bound to an underlying Zsphere Armature (Zsketch>Bind), you can control the Zsketch by manipulating the underlying rig. Exit Zsketch mode, and manipulate the Zsphere rig with the Move, Scale, and Rotate tools. Move/scale the root Zspehere to globaly move/scale the Zsketch. If it is bound, the Zsketch should be visible in ghosted mode, and should deform along with the armature as you manipulate it. (If it is bound, but doesnt update, you probably need to press “refresh binding”)

Please see the tutorial videos in the Zclassroom.

Generally, the sort of things you seem to want to do are done after the zsketch is converted to a mesh. However, for complicated tools where it might be desirous to start Zsketching somewhere in relation to another object, it would be better to make a standard Zsphere armature first as a subtool to the other object, position that properly, then start Zsketching.
