Poser Scaler plugin for ZBrush 3.1 (Mac version now available)

For me, I don’t have to set anything. PoserScaler was already set to 100 so I didn’t change. Click on PoserImport when import from Poser and if you finished, click on PoserExport.
When import to Poser, check off every option.

I must be doing sometin’ wrong when i export my obj from poser to zbrush and export back to poser cause i end up with a huge mesh in poser.

Could anyone be so kind as to put screenshots of the settings they use when they export to zbrush and import back again to poser.

It would help this poor damn fool a lot!

thanks!

One thing to be aware of when you re-import the obj back into Poser is to untick all the import options especially the “percentage of figure size” (I think that’s what it’s called - it’s obvious which one I mean when you look at it) That option causes some very bizarre things to happen.

I’m not in front of Poser at the moment so I can’t give you exact steps but that one is really important

Ok… I used poser scaler to import a base-character(awesome plugin BTW).

I made some clothes with the topo tools, exported the clothes from ZB to MAX to tweak some verticies. Now I’m trying to bring the outfit back into ZB, and that’s when I run into this problem.

When I use the ZB import, the outfit comes in just fine on it’s own, but when I try to append it as a sub-tool on the base character, it doesn’t show up, and the character gets scaled down or dissapears. Has anyone else run into this??

I think you exported that clothes without make Polymesh3D.
I’m not sure exactly, but if I remember well, it happened with me too when make only adaptive skin. But really not sure.

But don’t forget. If you imported basic figure with Poser Scaler, you have to export clothes with PoserScaler. So always use PoserImport and PoserExport if you work for a Poser figure.

Thanks a lot! That plugin will really be useful for my work

And yes, it’s true: Poser may not have a high status in this community but there are a lot of people who work with it. It’s nice to find some support for it here. Well done! :+1:

so does this fix the symmetry issues when importing character objs into zbrush?

The symmetry problem is figure related, it seems.
V4 for example is a little off center. The native Poser figures (G2 series) don’t have this issue, symmetry works perfectly with them.

So I don’t think the scaling plugin will fix this, as it is rather an offset problem, but please correct me if I’m wrong

You are not wrong. V4 is not as offcenter as V3, but it’s still not symmetrical. (If you look at the meshes in rhino3d it’s very obvious, and a little of a pain in the ass when working on them in zbrush… but there are ways to fix this problem.)

 thanks.

This plug in has really helped. It works well. It can sometimes be slow and other times freeze up, but for the most part it is perfect for morphs in Poser. Thanks!
