Poser Scaler plugin for ZBrush 3.1 (Mac version now available)

Thank you very much! :+1:

Thanks! This sounds handy!

Thanks this sounds like it will be very useful.

Pen

Thanks for this … xcellent

For some reason, I get an error saying it can’t create the poserscaler.obj.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Check that you have the plugin installed correctly. If you are sure you have then please post a screenshot of the error message.

The strangest thing. I notice the data folder was a text file. Somehow it must have corrupted during unzipping. Thanks.

That plugin is bogus. The data folder is just a text document.

morphious,

I don’t know what you are suggesting. The plugin zip contains the plugin file (which has the zsc extension) and a folder named PoserScalerData. This folder contains a blank text file named PoserScaleDataFolder.txt, the sole purpose of which is to have something in the folder as some unzipping programs don’t preserve empty folders.

The folder is used during the plugin operation to write a temp OBJ file. If the plugin can’t find the folder then it will return an error but without a screenshot of the error message you are getting I can’t be sure if this is the problem you are having.

Damn, it was my zip program on my laptop. Works fine on my Desktop, but for some reason, not on my laptop. Anyway, I unzipped on my desktop, and copied to my laptop, and the world is good again. Sorry for the confusion. My bad

I’m sure this is a great tool and all…
But eh, how do I use it!
lol
I would really like to know seeing as I’m working on a V4.2 morph as I type this. I’m used to zbrush2 and just installed zbrush3… it is way differant.

Did you read the first post in the thread? The instructions are there.

Yeah, but I didn’t know where to unzip the files. I figured it out
I think im going to downgrade back to z2… the brushes just aren’t doing what I need them to do.

IMHO you’d be a fool to not stick with 3.1 and all it’s additional features and improvements.

That may be but the tools are harder to use. I can’t even find the ones I need to make my morph.
What would you suggest? Any tutorials on how to get better accuanted with the tools?

Canned mushroom has a ton of tutorials posted here in the forums… and I’d highly recommend getting Gnomon’s meat’s myer zbrush 3.1 video tutorial… it’s worth it’s weight in gold.

I didn’t understand why this script is needed. I made tons of morph targets in ZBrush without any problems before. V4 worked lovely! I made several head morph targets for V4 and everything worked fine without this script.

BUT now I tried to make some morphs for another figure and when I finished, and loaded them in Poser…I was angry with results. All heads were higher position as original :frowning: Even if I make everything same as before. With another figure, new heads were lower position. For that figure I tried this Poser Scaler. It was slow while loaded and exported, but finally works lovely

So I’m so happy that I finally downloaded and installed.
Thanks for this script

Where did you get that video, any link appreciated.

ok found the link but you have to pay.

I have tried the poser scaler plug in but when i export back in poser the geometry is huge! can anybody provide screenshots on how to reimport properly in poser using poserscaler…

thanks

Are you using the Poser Scaler for export also? You’re going to have that problem if you don’t export at the same scale with the Poser Scaler export option.
