Sven

Fantastico… I like it very mucho :stuck_out_tongue:
This is very cool… man all the things computers can do scarry…
AMMA GOING TO GO WATCH I,Robot, seems like a good movie( just a little exited  )

PusGhetty, very informative tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to make it! If you animate him, post a link, I’d love to see him come alive…

Dickie

way cool pusghetty!! Thanks, this actually answered a question or two I had from reading your tut in the Practical Guide.

Have you tried renaming your “new” groups created in Zbrush with UVMapper? then the names will come up instead of numbers and might save you some more time perhaps?

Anyway…thanks for taking the time to share this info with us!! Can’t wait to find a few minutes to play with it!! :+1:

I have poser 4 is it possible to do the same steps or do you have to have poser 5? thanking U in advance.

Cheers for the walkthrough PusGhetty! Reminds me I need to get my finger out and start modelling for poser!

Sorry SpriteD, this tutorial is only relevant to the Poser 5 or Poser Pro Pack users(no Setup Room in P4).
You can create a rigged figure using the PHIbuilder prog (ask at Renderosity for details)/.

jotajota,
Gracias, I look forward to seeing your results, be sure to post them!

Sven,
Thanks bro, I will indeed do some animation with him… Soon!

Aztec…soljA,
Thanks, Yeah I Robot looks pretty cool! It comes out on my B-day… Tomorrow!

Dickie,
My pleasure to share some info with everyone, Thanks again for the positive feedback! I’ll let you know when I animate him!

aminuts,
Thanks! I’m glad this answered some questions for you. Hmmmn, UVmapper for renaming the groups… Yeah I suppose that would work too… I used to do all the re-grouping and naming in there. It is kind of nice to be able to do it all in just Z2 and P5. I’ll try doing it in UVmapper next time and I’ll let you know which one I think is quicker.

SpriteD,
Yeah, unfortunately with Poser4 you have to do it the hard way! Here is an old thread where I go into detail on how to do this with Poser4 and ZBrush1.51. It is much quicker and easier to do it inPoser5 though!

Wipe,
Thanks for the comments and feedback… Yes, phibuilder is indispensable for Poser4 character creators as well as UVmapper, Compose and Cr2Editor.

Best regards to all of you,
Michael

Ok remember I have poser4, don’t think I could afford the upgrade, little budget here. I saved my pieces, and now I don’t where to save them in poser 4 so I can construct my model I am trying to make. I am little slow on the learning curve here, just a lil ole lady keeping herself busy. lol If you have time can you help me more? Thanks in advance.

Thx for the walkthru PG… it helped clear up a couple of things for me
Tartan

Is there somewhere a little animation of this little demon ?
Pilou

Here’s the latest update…
A few poses and some facial Morph Targets to add expression. More to come…

SpriteD,
Yes, I’ll help you as time permits… you can do it all in Poser4 but it does take much more patience! Save your .obj file in this directory: Poser/Runtime/Geometries/CreateFolderHere
Save your texture files to:
Poser/Runtime/Textures/CreateFolderHere

I say “CreateFolderHere” because you should create your own folder here. Poser will then recognize it in the library later on in the figure creation process.

Tartan,
Thanks for the feedback!
Glad to be of assistance.

Pilou,
I haven’t created any animations yet but I will soon! Keep checking here!

Take care,
Michael

Damn P-Man… that is just suhweeet! One of these days… mark my words…I am going to get Poser 5…

can you export the bones into a different app for beter rendering ?
Poser renders always have that ick poser look to there skin. But the rigging is neat.

good stuff

Lonnie,
Thanks my friend!
Poser is definately fun to play with!

pint-sized,
Thanks for the kind words,
Yeah, there are several plug-ins that allow you to export your figures out of Poser5, into Maya, 3DsMax, Carrara, Truespace and a few others I think. Poser5 has a brand new Firefly rendering engine that is very powerful… I have yet to get very deep into it’s possibilities. Poser4’s rendering engine is pretty crappy though!

Adios,
Michael

Good work Michael :+1:
I don’t use Poser, but your result can change my idea.
I’m searching some software wich you don’t study year to rig a character…
I hope one day i can find it.
Bye
Leo

Michael, thanks for sharing. I still remember rigging my first P4 character…without pro pack…what a pain. Have you had any luck using displacement maps genereated from ZB in P5? I tried Pixolators head, and had some bad results. Ran out of time though and had to move on. Still thinking about it though.

Oh btw your character is cool!

Looks great Michael, well done :+1:

The posing is awesome, glad to have someone as good as u with us
