Pose Multiple Subtools Zbrush 3.5r2?

Hi, I’ve recently finished a model with multiple subtools in zbrush 3.5 and have now come against the problem of being unable to pose all of the subtools using transpose master like in 3.1, anybody got a solution they use? Thanks.

Haven’t found a simple one yet. I think the only solution would be to careful note and repeat transpositions throughout the affected subtools. I’m certainly hoping for the update transpose master and subtool master!

I thought that may be the case, ah well, give it a go 1 subtool at a time. Thanks for the feedback

I am in the same boat. Rather than transpose each subtool separately (20+) however, I think I am going to use the following workflow:

  1. do a quick rig in Max, 2) than do a really low level weighting of vertices (ie. don’t spend hours), 3) pose the character, and 4) than export the geometry back into Zbrush to smooth out the bad deformations.

While not ideal, I think this method will be a little quicker if you have a lot of subtools.

Hopefully the plugins are coming soon.

Another solution, which I forgot to mention earlier, is that if your subtools are relatively simply, you can merge them (merge visible), pose them, and then re-split them (groups split). This will work if you’re OK with using the polygroup “autogroups” feature or keeping your subtools to a single group each . . .

(I’ve done this once or twice and have lived to tell the tale . . .:D)
