Pose in layers??

Not sure if this is the right spot for this question, but I will post here anyway. I have a model that I am sculpting in symmetry, but I want to pose it. Is there a way that I can pose the model in a layer, then hide the posed layer, add detail in the symmetry and then reveal the posed layer to have the new detail?? This way I can keep all the detail on a symmetry layer, but still have the freedom to pose it whenever I like through out the sculpting process. I saw that there was a poseable symmetry tool, but I think I need more control. I may later want to export the model and apply a rig to it. Does this make sense???

Hey there,

if it’s just symmetry you are worried about, don’t forget that ZBrush also has poseable Symmetry. You’ll find it under Top Menu/Transform/Symmetry.

Other than that using Layers for different poses is definitely a good idea. Some ZBC member posted a tutorial for something like that recently. Just can’t remember who it was … i’m getting old … Maybe somebody with a better memory can help you out …

Hope that helps
