This piece is called the portrait of Marina Borges
I started to develop this project to test the techniques I learned from Kris Costa in his workshop, I had the opportunity to buy his course and it was very good and I recommend it to everyone who wants to understand a little more about the process of creating a portrait.
In this piece I am portraying my wife, who helped me a lot during development, in addition to the bust portrait I wanted to make a full body render with a props pose and a composition like the ones I like in my favorite paintings.
So I was able to play with the colors and composition of the scene
The model and texture were made by hand in ZBrush using HD Geometry without any procedural map.
For the eyes I bought an XYZ displacement map.
The hair was done using X-gen.
Dress was made in Marvelous.
And the Render was done in Maya using V-ray.
This type of work is a little different from what I do in my day to day work, so it was very interesting to find out how to solve some problems.
Some of them I haven’t been able to solve yet, but I will improve next time.
