Andreja - Thanks - I’m a big Ingres fan as well 
Roja - about the hair… the hair (or fur) in xsi is created by picking polys and generating hair from them - if you want to control the flow and the kink of the different patches of messy hair you need to create many individual hair patches from different polygons- It won’t work to create the hair from all the polygons on the head at once… I don’t know if this makes sense but it’s pretty straight forward when you start working with hair… I learned a lot about CG hair on this project… mainly that it’s a huge pain in the a** to control

Kahshe - Who fought about who it would be more difficult to copy Delacoix or Ingres? I guess I missed the debate… The “Ingres would be impressed” part of your comment is the biggest compliment I got yet - Even though I think his response would be more in the lines of “you copied it using what !!!” 
I quickly through a phong on all the elements in the scene including the hair just to show how it’s combed…
