Polysketchs

I admire you.

We need more Marcelos making noise at ZBC! Congratulations, man.

WOW. I haven’t posted in a VERY long time and this made me do it.

This is a truly amazing use of the tool and just astonishing sense of line, motion and dynamics.

Absolutely beautiful works.

Cheers, and congratulations.

WoW is so awesome

I’m other fan of the sketchy 2d concept arts and I thought that it just couldn’t be recreated in 3d. “If no one have done it so far, it can’t be done”. However, you have shown us that we were totally wrong.

So congrats for the top row, it is more than deserved!

the sketch of the guy with the spikey hair and the big sword reminds me of itchigo (of the anime series ‘bleach’) the other sketches also remind me of the Shinigami monsters…

very nice sketches!!! can’t wait to se a making of

Cheers

I love it!

absolutely awesome.

Very cool technique, do you mind sharing some tips with us on how you did this?

You’re doing great!!!

Some tips…

After I have created my model/base mesh I can start experimenting with the polysketch technique.
The image should look like a sketch, so from here I will use a combination of the Clip Plane tool and Shakehook brush.
For the Clip Plane tool press and hold Ctrl+Shift, move onto brush and select Clip Curve, then go on stroke (while holding down Ctrl+Shift) and select Lasso.
For the Shakehook brush, use Color Spray for the stroke and for an alpha try Alpha 25.
I can now start polysketching.

Love your work man…nice effect with the polysketch, and near impossible to 3DPrint!

I rarely post. But, had to for these. Love the style and looseness of the work!

Great stuff!!! Dynamic and original!!! I have just read over your tutorial in 3D Artist and i am diggin the technique, but i am thinking that it is more of your eye for the dynamic aspect of what you are trying to convey than it is technique. It seems that using that technique could quickly get out of control and messy. Those Polysketches look very 3d to me and remind me of dynamic-paper mache. Amazing taste and amazing work!!!

so much style and movement in these. really nice to see other types of work. hope you can put up a making of tutorial or writeup.
