polypainting to texture question.

Hi all. I’m working on part of a model, and I just can’t seem to get the col>txr to function properly. Here is the list of my workflow.

1)Build a model and lay out uv’s in Maya.
2)Export using OBJ file into Zbrush.
3)Save Morph Target, Subdivide, then Sculpt away.

4)After sculpting, I fillobject a color.
5)PolyPaint the model to my heart’s content.
6)Then I assign a 2048x2048 texture file, which turns the model into the corresponding color in the color box.
7)Under Tool>Texture> (I select) col>txr.

I have had successful results using this procedure with other parts of my model. However, using this procedure on one part of my model seems to create a scrambled color texture file. Please Help.

The problem is probably the points that are right on the UV edge. You should always leave some padding around the outside of your layout, since not all programs register the 0,0 point the same, and those edge points can end up pulled across the model.

Thank you for the reply aurick. I found out what I did wrong. I forgot to lay out a section of uv’s around the knee area. Funny thing was the forgotton UV’s were placed right at 0,0 of the UV space, so I couldn’t see it.

I saved a morph target.
Exported an OBJ file.
Layed out the UV’s that I forgot to lay out in Maya.
Brought it back in to Zbrush, and it worked just fine.
