I have a polypainted model that I wanted to UV map in Max. So I exported it at the lowest level, uv mapped it, and then reimported it into Zbrush. I have done this in the past (in 3.5), and it worked fine. However now when I do this, my polypainting gets all jumbled. Even if I reimport the obj I exported from ZBrush, my polypainting gets jumbled. I really need paintable UVs, how do I fix this?!
Are you sure you don’t have a texture displayed and that’s what’s getting jumbled? Anyway:
- Select the Polymesh3d (Star) tool and import your new UVs as a separate tool.
- Press UV Master>Copy UVs.
- Select your original model.
- Press UV Master>Paste UVs.
Yeah , I’m sure it’s not a texture. Your method jumbles the polypainting as well.
Well then it must be something to do with your model or UVs because this is not an issue that I can reproduce or that others are reporting.
