Polypainting functions of 3D brushes

Today I found out that smooth brush can smooth polypainted colours, not just geometry. I have always thought that standard brush is the only possible tool when polypainting.

Do all 3D brushes have different polypainting functions? Can someone please list all the functions? I can’t find this information from any documentation.

Currently, the color painting is the same for most brushes. However, one important difference is in the behavior of the “Layer” Brush. The standard brush allows for color (or texture) ‘buildup’ which means that the more you paint over the same area the stronger the blending amount will be. The Layer brush allows you to specify the exact blending amount and it will remain consistent throughout the stroke. Example: Try using the Standard brush with RGB intensity set to 10 and then compare this to using the Layer brush with the same RGB intensity.
