Polypaint/Xnormal Texture help

Hi there and a happy new year to all!

My problem is regarding creating a texture in Zbrush using Polypaint.
I followed the tutorial-
http://eat3d.com/free_zbrush_xnormal_pipe

Which basically shows you how to create a polypaint texture into a diff use texture using Xnormal for use in Photoshop.
By following the tutorial i managed to get a diffuse texture ready to add extras in photoshop. That all worked fine.
I then used this texture in photoshop adding layers to carry on with painting the Diffuse texture.
I collapsed all the layers but now i would like to take this texture back to zbrush and use it so i can paint on it directly on the hi poly model to get shadows under chin and add extra detail etc.Once i have done that i would like to then follow the same steps as before.
Not sure if this can be done and would appreciate any input.
Thanks

Assuming you are using ZBrush 4,

  1. Your model needs UV’s assigned first.
  2. Go to Texture menu and import your diffuse map.
  3. Go to Tool > Texture Map, click on texture icon and select your imported diffuse map.
  4. In Tool > Texture, make sure “Texture On” button is off.
  5. Do your polypainting on your highest subd level.
  6. When you are done with your polypainting, in Tool > Texture, click New From Polypaint then Clone Txtr so you can export your new diffuse map.

Thanks Zber2.

The model in Zb4 is not unwrapped.
Following the tutorial link i posted i polypainted on the high wth GUV tiling which after “new from polypaint” i exported to Xnormal.
In Xnormal i have the high poly model along with the GUV texture in he “base textue to bake” slot.
In the low defintion tab i have the lo poly exported directly from Max thqat has been unwrapped.
I bae out the diff texture fine,no probs.
I cannot import the lopoly hgead into zbrush to replace the sub div level 1 original as it has been optimised.

Just looking for a way to get the new texture on the high poly head as before, carry on polypainting and following the same steps export out as GUV and run through Xnormal.
Thanks
