PolyPaint with Layers Bug? or User Error??

Hello,

I am having issues with my polypaint texture when I hide a polygroup. I would like to not have to use subtools or flatten my layers to resolve the issue. I’m looking forward to see anyone’s comment on how they have resolved similar issues.

Thank you,

I have the same problem, I think it’s a bug. Hide the layers you’re not painting on before hiding any polygroups/geometry and you won’t get any artifacts. It’s annoying but not a showstopper.

Just for another data point I have the same issues. Seems like a bug.

I tried this after you replied. It still did not work for me. I actually need the below layers to of the metal to see where I wanted to have the rust begin eating away at the metal so hiding layers would have not worked for me on this project anyways.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks. Its good to know its Zbrush and not me lol. Although I would much rather have the program working the way it should so it would not slow me down on being productive. I sure hope they fix this by Zbrush5…

I have a similar problem and maybe is a bug check:

I work at an Art University and I also have a lot of students with the same issue. I hope Zbrush makes its layers more dependable and more robust like other 3D painting/sculpting applications in the next update or they may have some serious job competition issues in the future. I would also alike to see polypaint layers with hue and saturation filters, and blend modes like in Photoshop. Along with the bug fixes of course.
