Hello there guys… just wondering… my model is now finished and painted using polypaint… But before I applied paint, I lowered the polys considerably in decimation master… was just wondering how this model would look at a higher res… so is there a way to grab the paint of my low res model and whack onto the high res, so I get the same look, paint effects etc?? All advice would be gratefully recieved…
When you decimated, did you specify to keep the UV coordinates? If so you can just make a map from the polypainted version and it will wrap onto the decimated version.
If not, then what you can do is UV the decimated version and divide it to have as many polygons as the original again. Append it to the original, turn on Draw>Rgb and turn off Zadd, then use Project All to copy the polypaint over. Make the map and return to level 1.
I’m also interested in this method and I gave it a shot, but it is still projecting geometry even though Zadd is turned off. Any ideas?
