I cannot get the layers to record my polypaint strokes. YES. I did press record first. Everyone seems to ask that in all the posting that I have read hehe. In fact it wont paint at all if i press record but if I have record turned off THEN I can paint. My res is all the way up too. Any ideas to help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Are you brushing the polypaint or trying to fill it?
I filled it first so that I would not have to hand paint the whole thing. i wanted to then poly paint the color variations. I am guessing from your question that filling the object first will not allow me to polypaint the color variations in the layer unless it was colored with polypaint and not filled. If so this sounds like a good reason why its not working. I will trouble shoot while waiting for your response to see what i get. Thanks!
Yea that is a really common issue with layers that isn’t documented very well. Filling a layer will only fill the parts that have been already Polypainted by a brush stroke. It’s a pain but what I do is just swipe the whole thing with a huge brush a few times if I want to fill the entire subtool.
