polypaint, layers, and partially hidden meshes

So I have this model with polypaint on it. I have no layers right now, so there’s no polypaint in any layers. Now, I create a new layer, hide a portion of the model, and the polypaint screws up. It looks as if the colors have moved to different places. Is there a way to fix this? I tried baking everything and creating a new layer again, but it still screws up the polypaint when when I hide part of the mesh. any help is appreciated.

I confirm I can reproduce this. I don’t have any suggestions, other than not hiding the mesh while working on a layer.

yes, i think that same reason was the problem in mine case, which i had asked inanother thread here. i had parts of the mesh masked and at times hidden, while polypainting… i am not sure if the layers are the problem, or the mask, or that part of the mesh is hidden, or all together. but it seems one of these does not work with polypaint as expected. how are the beautiful models done ? i was trying to recreate pixolaters look, from the last video, in my own model… so, he had done it, it works some way, i still not found
