Polypaint issue

Hello,

I’m encountering an issue while I’m using polypaint. When I’m painting on a model and move down subdivisions to smooth colors and then move back up divisions I get some strange results. It’s like I have the wireframe painted onto the model. It transfers over to the maps when i export it out also. Also my smooth brush doesn’t really do much smoothing while painting even with the intensity bumped up. Just curious to see if someone knows whats going on.

I’m not surprised by those results. Multi-res editing dictates that changes made at one level will affect all others. When applied to polypaint, that will result in something like you describe.

You see, when you drop down levels that is a lower polypaint resolution. If you make any changes to the polypaint at that level, then ZBrush will translate this low resolution painting up to the higher levels. And presto! You’ll now have what you’re describing.

Polypaint should only be worked on at the highest level. Multi-res editing is meant for sculpting.
