Polypaint information gone when selecting area

ZBrush Document.jpg

When I select an area of her body, the polypaint deforms, is there a reason why it does this or is there a way to work around it? She is Uv’d but I dont understand how uvs would effect the polypaint information…
The reason i need to do this is to delete the hidden polys, however it is not necessary but it would be interesting to know for future reference.

Which version of ZBrush are you using?

In Z4 I’ve seen this happen on a model with multiple SubTools. Partially hiding one SubTool can cause the polypaint on other SubTools to display wrong until you unhide again. The info is correct; it’s just a display error.

I haven’t seen it happen on a model with only one SubTool, however.

If your model has only one SubTool, what you could do is clone the model and append the clone to the original. Partially delete the desired areas, then (with Draw>Rgb active) use Project All to copy the polypaint over from the original.

Aurick, i hope that you guys are working to fix all the bugs in ZB!
Layers are very buggy and pretty much unusable!

I am using Z4. And she does have multiple subtools, but the polypaint is only displaying wrong on her body, not the other subtools…
So I tried cloning the subtool as its own and its still doing the same…
I guess projecting the paint is my last option.

Do you have any 3D Layers?
