Polypaint in 4R6 bug?

Hi,

Ever since I upgraded to 4R6 P2, I’ve had trouble getting polypaint to activate. Before, I was able to start painting after generating UVs, filling the object with white, going to Texture Map and Creating new from Polypaint, making sure RBG mode is on, and then Polypaint/Colorize/Polypaint from texture. It isn’t working now though. I know you don’t need UVs to polypaint, but I always generate a texture map from my polypaint so that’s why I start off this way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You did turn texture off?

Yes, as Doug says, if you have a texture map on your model it will hide any polypaint.

But even after I generate the texture map and go to Polypaint, Paint from Texture Map, nothing happens when I try to paint on my model. This is all with Texture Off on the left hand panel.

The Texture that has to be off is the one in “Tool > Texture Map” subpalette. If that one is on, it will hide your polypaint, as Marcus indicated.
