Polypaint HD to texture map artifacts

Hi,

The problem happens when I extract the Polypaint HD texture map. At first I thought it may have been that my poly count wasn’t high enough for a 4k map (2.1 Mil - 6 Mil in HD), however I tried a 1k map which produced the same result. Both the Multi Map Exporter and the ZB Texture exporter give the same outcome.
Has anyone come across this before?

it almost looks like when you when from polypaint to texture that something was masked on the model. i only just started toying with hd sculpting with any seriousness so cant speak from experience …but that looks like the same thing that happens when you accidentally apply material to a model after working on hd sculpting and forgetting to unmask the detail i just laid down… material applies in all but a few pixols and i get some annoying dots on the mesh.

all i can suggest is go through all subtools and make sure ur masks are forced off… then apply materials again as necessary… then try pushing polypaint to texture if that doesnt work then something may be funky with your uvs

I’ve restarted ZB thinking it might have a glitch, ctrl dragged on the screen to disable any masks, added a mask then extracted to a texture which just ignores the mask, painted with very fine detail like I did before and can’t get the problem to happen again.
There is one strange thing though, I have two levels of HD, I painted on level 1 - all looks fine however when I switch to level two I see the artifacts on the model.

could have been the order you did things then. did you divehd twice before starting to paint or did you divide…paint…dive again.

just throwing out thoughts :wink: … zbrush has its quirks all over the place and sometimes its all about the small things we change that build up to cause the big crashirino

When I first started working I divided to level 4 then deleted level 4 after which I divided the Sculpt HD to level 2. I am sure this did not affect anything because I was painting in and out of HD many times while extracting texture maps without any problems.
