hello everyone!
i’m a complete newbie and I’m following some tutorials at the moment.my question is, i’m a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out polygroups/masking groups/group visible etc etc all that kind of stuff, so i’m wondering if any one can point me to a tutorial here on ZBSEE to learn that part please??
thanks in advance
Have you read the docs that are included with the ZBrush program? Any other software background?
hi MealeaYing,
omg!!, did you take the time to write all that for me??!!!
i can’t tell you how impressed i am that you took the time to reply like you have and to explain this all to me,so thank you very very much from the outset.yes, i am a newbie really,I’ve been trying to use zbrush correctly for about two years and i always run into problems and get discouraged.i leave it for a while and come back and the same thing happens.i guess i need to apply myself correctly but i have to say your explanations on polygroups are without doubt the best I’ve come across!!
i have purchased some tutorials but they are too advanced for me.i will concentrate on getting the basic stuff right before attempting those ones.
i am going to practice your tutorial for the next hour or so and see how i get on.
a big thank you again MealeaYing !
dave.
Without that(the basics) it’s like dumping someone into the wilderness without a map or a compass
There’s a link in my post and the forums here are searchable. I figured he’d at least reply with a bit more info
hi doug,
apologies!, no i have been busy in the last few days and only got to see the above replies earlier today.i have been reading up on the manual/reference as you suggested,i have also subscribed to digital tutors but its also great to get advice and tips from senior members on this site such as mealea and yourself.i’m a person interested in learning 3d and have no background at all in it but am eager to learn.thanks,
dave.
Devoid of landmarks…:(. It doesn’t take lots of brush types to “model something cool”
, there’s normally an idea followed by experimentation to realize that idea on your screen either in 2D or 3D. 3D will still only be displayed in 2D, but you can rotate ‘your creation’.
Besides brush types are brush modifiers and of course stroke attributes…Lots to play with on your journey.
hey doug! thanks for all your help buddy!
YW. Model something and then something else. Experimentation is necessary and strongly encouraged. Know your UI
I posted one and some macros if you’re interested. And most importantly have fun.
mealea, thanks again and i’m looking forward to any more tutorial stuff/information that you can help me out with thanks so much!!i bought a beginners type tutorial and started modelling out the beginnings of a cannon/weapon courtesy of badking so i’ll do more tomorrow and post in the forums cheers, dave.
