Poly Painting problem

I have noticed a problem I’m having with Poly Painting. After I convert my texture to poly paint and disable the UVs- I notice that textures I try to paint onto the model create unexpected color information. It seems like the poly painting “remembers” old paint details and reveals them or puts a white halo around where the alpha should be producing transparency. It seems inconsistent- sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Any suggestions or ideas appreciated.

100 percent rgb intensity when dropping it should do the trick

Still having a problem- hopefully this image explains it better. Basically when I set up for Poly painting, the first stroke often has a problem feathering the transparency- undoing it doesn’t seem to solve the problem (it dispears until I paint over that area again). I’m sure I can come up with a dirty solution, but I’m wondering what the cause might be and what is the correct solution. As suggested- the RGB value is 100 %. This is being done without the projection master- real time poly painting. Please see the image
