poly-paint + uv issues

hi

i bring in a model with uv maps in place , i perform a uv check to see if they were brought in correctly , i disable uvs to begin poly painting when thats done i enable uvs and press col > txr , but the color is not baked into the texture using the present uv set ,nothing is baked no texture is created the model turns black or becomes invisible …
all that works fine for zbrush primitives or models without uv maps

whats wrong ? how can i bake my color using the available uv set into a texture ?

thanks in advance

when you disable the UV’s you destroy them. It doesn’t disable them…it should be called delete UV’s. If you’re poly painting you don’t need to disable the UV’s. Unless you’re using someone’s technique that requires it…not sure on his name.

You just need to step down to subD 1. store a morph target. import the obj with the UV’s at subD1. switch your morph target and then step up a couple of levels to see if the mesh explodes. if it doesn’t, you’re all set and your UV’s are back on your mesh.

Hope that helps

cool ! it worked

thanks again:+1:
