Poly groups

When I use Ctrl plus shift and drag and let the shift go, I do not get the red, I only get the green. When I let go of shift, is there is not red, is something wrong with my action?

Are you trying to hide groups? You need Control + shift + alt.

The tutorials I have been watching say to Ctrl + Shift and after drag let go of the shift and the red indicator square shows to hide. but now you say it is Control + Shift + alt. I will try that, the tutorials I have been seeing are old, that could be the reason. thanks

Yes the alt key will do the opposite brush, same with the selection tool. You can either hold CTRL+SHIFT+ALT or you can hold CTRL+SHIFT and start dragging and then hold ALT.

That will help a lot…I do not use Zbrush as much as I should because I also use Blender 2.6, but I do my primary models in zbrush and export them to Blender…What I really wanted to do is put more detail by using edge loops, but I do not know if the newer Zbrush still has that function, or it is a different way of doing edge loops. With edge loops, I should be able to move points around the meshes, especially around the mouth and eyes, I do not do sculpt.

but I do not know if the newer Zbrush still has that function

It still has edgeloops, and it has more options for them than ever before (group loops, panel loops, edgelooping masked borders, creating them with transpose, etc) (http://docs.pixologic.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/4R5-Tool-Geometry-EdgeLoop.jpg)

I was able to work around the edge loops, now I need to know how to move the vertex on those edge loops. I tried moving the points, but can not move them change the edges?

Thanks very much for your help…I am 76 years young and proabably the oldest Blender and ZBrush head around these parts.
