Pojecting curvature while preserving details

I’m having a problem with projecting.I’m trying to add curvature to an object by projecting the cruavtureof a cylinder behind it. When I use Zproject it flattens out thedetail of the object I’m projecting. I’m trying to remember how topreserve the detail but I can’t find a tutorial that reminds me howto do it.

I’m wondering If I’m even using therite tool/brush… thingy. I remember seeing it in a Zbrush featurevideo after V4 came out and now I can’t seem to figure out where itis or how to use it (if its even the tool I’m trying to use)

any help would be appreciated.

I believe what you’re looking for is the matchmaker brush. If I recall it wraps an object around the shape behind it and preserves the details of the wrapped object.

that’s the beast. Thank you because its been giving me a head ache.

No problem, man. I’m lucky if I can remember what the move brush does from one zbrush session to the next!

the last time I used Zbrush was when shadowbox was in beta. I’m just now playing around with it. It doesn’t help matters that I barely remember the interface. Though poking around in sculptris during the time in between hasn’t helped things either lol
