Please Post Your Rigging / Posing Workflow - I'm trying to learn

I am in the process of learning this HUGE and complex program and something that has completely stopped my progress is rigging and posing.

I see master-level work on this forum all the time and from what I have gathered, there is not one “correct” way to approach rigging and posing, so for learning and comparison purposes, I’d love to see the different ways that some of you choose to approach it. BTW I have read Rastamans tutorial, and I am still a bit confused

A few questions that I have:
-Do you prefer ZSpeher Rigs or Transpose or a mixture of both?
-Do you prefer to confine your posing to a layer?
-Do you sculpt up to subd level 3, or 4, or 5 and then pose?
-How do you pose a subd level 1 mesh and then transfer the high details of the top subd to the lower level subd when using Zspheres to pose?

Since I am new to Zbrush, please feel free to post your workflows in as much detail as possible, step 1, step 2 etc… I think it would be great if this particular thread could grow to become a quick reference for most of the posing and rigging questions newbies tend to have while climbing the zb learning curve.

I’d love it if one or several of the following members could contribute to this thread because their work so inspiring:

But EVERYONE who has something to contribute, please do. ALL knowledge is welcome, this site is huge and there is no way that I have been able to view everyone’s excellent work. Thank you.

I’m sorry noone has replied to you.
Posing might seem daunting at first but it gets easier with practice. I tend to start with a mesh divided up to 3 times, I pose it with zspheres then I do the fine tuning of the pose with Transpose. I’ll divide it up to 5 or 6 subd to get the surface detail I want.

I suggest you study the zbrsuh Wiki (http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Main_Page) search for rigging and posing.

Also YouTube has a wealth of tutorials. This one shows how to use zspheres to rig: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NppgSJEMoHI&feature=related

This one talks about using the plugin Transpose Master:

Also, if you see someones work you like, don’t be afraid to send them a pm to ask them a question.

Good luck, and don’t get discouraged.
