Please help with zsphere resymmetry with lost zspheres

Here’s my problem, I’ve been working on a model and got to the hands.
I zoomed in on one hand and somehow must’ve deactivated symmetry… So my characters left hand is perfect while the right hand is missing some fingers… Is there a simple way to re-symmetic-ize the mesh? or do i have to dig in there and do things the hard way?? I don’t even know where to begin to look for a solution to this so i’m kinda stumped… Thanks in advance kind folks…

Hi there,

Go to the lowest Subdivision level, mask off half of the mesh and go to Tool/Deformation. Click on smart Resym (double check that X axis is selected). That should do the trick.

Might be that you need to do it twice. Check the info bar on the top left of the UI, it will tell you the amount of symmetry found.

Hope that helps.

oopppps sorry … i failed to read the headline. You are still in ZSphere mode right?

Hmmmm, as far as i know there is no way of doing a resym of the ZSpheres.

What you could do, once you are done with the rest, is: create the adaptive mesh. Delete the bad half with Poly frame on. Position the mesh as exact as possible at zero X using the grids. After that go to Tool/Geometry Mirror and Weld on the x axis. You might have to do a little bit of a clean up, but it should work.
