Please HELP me w/ exporting TXTures....contains image of the problem

Hi guys, i recently started working with 3d app’s, such as 3ds max and Zbrush.

I’m making incredible progress I might add, i’m learning the workflow like there’s no tomorrow…

…But there is one big problem, I’m working on my second project, and I just don’t understand that much about texture maps, displacement maps and UVs…

Thats why I looked it up in the Zbrush book and followed the steps…

I opened the ‘texture’ submenu and selected enable UV + Colorize, and started painting my model.

When I was done painting I clicked ‘GUVtiles’ in the texture submenu and then ‘Col>Txr…’
I exported my model as .OBJ and saved the texture as an .BMP.

Opened up 3ds max to render it, but my texture was all messed up like this:

Here is the model in ZBRUSH, painted.

I tried to do it all again but this time with the AUVRatio turned higher, but again the problem occured…

COULD ANYONE PLEASE HELP?

I’M SO STUCK!!

Tnx alot

at first glance it looks like you need to flipV your texture. it’s upside down.

I’m sorry to ask this but how should I do that, I’m really kind of a retard when it comes to these things:P

In your texture menu, click the Flip V button.

I’m sorry for acting so ignorant but I can’t find a FLIP V button NOwhere…
did you mean the ‘CYCLE UV’ button or ‘SWITCH U<>V’ button maybe???

Tnx for replying!

not in tool>texture

but on the top menu

texture>flipV.

If it looks right in Zbrush, it’s wrong in Max, and vise-versa

Thanks alot guys for helping me understand the problem!

It’s fixed now so i can continue.

THANKS!!
