Playing with 3.0(some nude monsters)

the harley davidson guy is amazing! love them all!

Wonderful work you have there Mr Baker, this comes from a long time viewer & fan of your real world makeup work

[QUOTE=Plakkie]It always strikes me Rick that your models don’t have that clean CGI look, but a more rough and imperfect look, which to me is a big plus. Must have to do with your background.

I know what you mean. I go out of my way to make the models asymmetrical. Sure it is a lot faster to work symmetrically but I think it makes it look artificial because no one is symmetrical

[QUOTE=feureau ]The Harley Davidson guy looks real cool. Are those separate meshes on the beard?
No The beard is a sub tool on which I roughly modeled the hair ,then I made an alpha the shape of a clump of hair and zadded them to the beard sub tool .Because the beard was something like 10 million polys it worked.

[QUOTE=WoodlyLWG]Great character to all of these - looks like you have taken a departure from your ‘usual’ and modeled the hair…seems in the past you have painted hair for the final pieces.

Actually Woodly I would usually model the hair first to see where the light and shadows fall and then paint the hairs over that
Again thanks everyone It makes me happy that you like my stuff. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the ZBrush community does with 3.0

Amazing works. The last sculpting is my favourite.

Hi Earlier today I posted another image of the old geezer. After posting the image I was looking at it and saw a lot of things that I didn’t like about it. It was down right crude and really wrong in places. So I worked on it more this evening . I re posted the new version I think that it is better but frankly the whole thing still needs a lot of work. I’ll try and finish it more and keep up dating the image. That is something that I love about working digitally is that you can continue to refine or radically change your work without starting over from scratch

so much character in these works sir. i am in a continual state of awe
everytime i see your cg pieces (your past body of works i wont even
begin to discuss here lest i be labeled as the fanboy that i am). the first image reminds me very much of vincent price for some reason…not in the way he looks, but in the intense glance that is very reminiscent of him. please keep all of us updated with more food for the eyes!

great and amazing works !

one of my favorite artist

Really nice update Rick! Thanks for sharing.

I love your stuff!

Excellent doodles in Zbrush too.

I said that I would post updates on this guy so I did .
I got a little carried away today he is a bit extream but I thought you might get a kick out of him this way.

Hahahaha! Love the crazy new version Rick! That eyeball is hilarious

Rick,

Don’t know whether to laugh or cry, so I’ll just do both. Your one of our shining lights here ZBC! I’ve got cages just lined up and ready for ZB3, and even more on the way. Back a while when we learned about being able to say bye-bye poly limits I esentially quit trying to finish anything in ZB2. Now that we’ve all gotten to see the results thanks to you and and the other Beta demi-gs, I’m so stoked.

I’m just trying to fathom real time rendering…

I would like to leave my thanks to you for displaying your fine work here. The close ups are killing me!Could you of perhaps added a virtual tranquilizer to let us sleep to the 15th and stop us whining  !Saying that as many before~the artist still requires the ability to use the software to its potential married alongside god given talent like yours !Ps I bet your Old man is smiling at your pierced work

cal

The pop-eye updates are fantastic - you’re just a hair piece or hat away from a fairy tale witch.

Pro job as usual Rick :+1:

Everyone seems to like the Old Geezer but I truly admire the work done on the African woman. First of all its the kind of character that we havent seen much (if any) of here yet and since I live in Africa I can tell you that its really authentic and convincing.

Keep up the good work (Not that you would have any trouble)

The first image screams: GET OF MY LAWN!!!
Lemo  :+1: :+1: :+1:

Truly, I just LMAO! Nice one. That eye will ignite a few laughs and a few nightmares before it’s all over!

Nice work as always, pop eye makes… my eyes water.:grimacing:

hey man !!!..your model remind me this man in apocalypto (middle)…but after some years  …almac

Fantastic works :sunglasses: Much details …cool.
