I came across this link on TalkGraphics today Plant Studio

Has anyone used this? It looks very interesting. Apparently you can “grow” plants based on realistic algorythms that can then be used in 2d and 3d apps. I am going to try it tonight when I get home. Oh and it is free!

Hmmm, I paid for my copy several years ago. I believe the evaluation version is free. :smiley: I have tried it and yes I like it. It’s a great program. Takes a little practice like anything. :smiley:

I have not used it with ZBrush as of yet. Matter of fact I haven’t gotten it on the new computer yet. Guess I better go find it and get it on here.

Another site I came across the other day is this one:

Hairdo, Grass, Twig, Scatter

Grass is free. :smiley:

They had a press release on their site that said they are going non-profit and Plant Studio 2 will now be free. Definitely going to check it out.

Well, that is cool! It was only 20.00 when I purchased it so it wasn’t a big deal even paying for it. For free! Wow!

Yes! Plant Studio is now free. I’ve been using it forever.

Also the Bantam3D links posted are great. I use Grass and Twig. Grass is free, and Twig is just $10.

I made some grass with Grass and nice daisies with Twig. They’re in this Bryce (not Z) picture: GEOs and Daisies

Thanks for those links Vikki they look interesting. Plant Studio is a great little program, I did put it on the community forum about two or three months ago, they have a page that gives the registration details. It’s just a standard number for all and you also type in plant studio is now free in the registration box. That stops it keep telling you that it is an evaluation copy.
Anyway thanks for pointing the way again Mentat, it certainly is a worthwhile little program. :+1:
