Placing alphas on cylindrical surfaces

Hey all. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to best place alphas on a cylindrical surface? I’ve tried using decimation master, which gives me a high fidelity version of my alpha on the geo, but I get warping since it’s on a curved surface. If I use a standard brush and drag rectangle with radial symmetry I can make it work, but the fidelity is not as good. Does anyone have a solution? Something I can click in my brush settings?

Thanks!

You could use Projection Master with deformation turned on as well as Normalized. The Normalized setting instructs ZBrush to project based upon each point’s normal direction rather than relative to the viewport. You will probably also want Fade turned off.

Otherwise, we’d need more information concerning exactly what you’re trying to do. Including what version of ZBrush you’re using.
