Pixologic Users Group Meeting - The Recap

On January 10th, ZBrush users from around the country gathered to attend the second-ever Pixologic Users Group Meeting. It was a tremendous event with ZBrush artists Bay Raitt, Ken Brilliant, Meats Meier, Taron and Zack Petroc each presenting ZBrush from their perspective.

It was a Pixol-filled evening with over 500 people coming together to talk ZBrush and listen to five very talented artists share their art and workflows. Each presentation was different from the others and showcased the incredible variety of possibilities inherent within ZBrush 2.

We have distilled four and one half hours of footage down to five three minute re-caps. Each one is focused on a single artist. With that much footage it was hard to choose what highlights to share with you but we hope you enjoy them.

We hope to meet with you in the near future for the next Pixologic User Meeting. Details will be made available at ZBrushCentral as they become available.

Happy ZBrushing!

Note: For anyone who would like to discuss Taron’s “People” movie or download the short with less compression (and a larger file size), you may do so here.

Thanks for taping and putting these up - and thanks to the presenters for the stimulating work.

I'm downloading now and will hopefully beat the rush.

Thank you for putting this together. Well worth the download and the next best thing to being there. It was especially nice to see pictures of the presenters and hear their voices in the videos. Hey, they are human after all

I think I will complete the experience by standing out in the snow for 20 minuttes (no rain today)

Loved Taron’s animation. The message was perfect.

Thank you thank you thank you!
Wonderful of you guys!

I’m on 56k at home, but tomorrow I will definitely be downloading these. Thanks a bunch for providing these, and for free! That’s an awesome gesture!

Great! Thanks!!!

Too bad I missed that…

It is my lost that this was held on the other coast, but the hope remains, either that there will be something like this in NY, or I will move to California,.

The videos are great, of course, to short, but we’ll take everything you are willing toi share with the rest of the zbrush’s forum population.

For me it was a first look at the masters of this amazing software. One is asking himself/herself “Who are does guys with all that imagination and knowledge that triggers our fantasy and grow our wish to learn more and achieve more with ZB”. Thank you and keep up with the great work.

By the way, Meats - cool glasses, man.

Hey, thank you for the nice comments, I’m looking forward to telling you a lot more about the clip, which is actually called “People”, but well…I think it won’t be long before we get to look at the details of it.

The meeting was a true blast and it’s been a pleasure to watch everyone’s presentation…I think if the meetings continue to grow at the current rate, we’ll need the LA convention center for the next…hahaha! But it really makes total sense to me! Such a crazy variety of uses for ZB and such a stunning group of artists already…it certainly will get out of control!

All of these videos were awesome! And Taron, I am honored that you would share your work so freely. The People animation was beautiful. I literally had goose bumps! I personally liked the last girl you did for this. Wow!

Thank you Pixologic, once again, for deciding to share this!

Thanks to Aurick for posting this for those of us that cannot make it to the meeting. I enjoyed every second of these videos.

As for the ‘People’ clip, well I must admit the beauty of this almost brought me to tears, I have to say that out of all the images, animations and CG in general that I have seen … this clip has the greatest effect on me. The trademark of true talent and without doubt an artist of our time, congratulations and thankyou Taron.

All the vids were great. I especially loved Taron’s people animation. What an inspiration, can’t wait to hear your breakdown of the scene and your workflow.

Cheers,

Thank you for posting these. Maybe next time I’ll be able to make it…
