i hope there will be some video after the event…
just for those who are love zbrush&ILM but can’t participate…like me:D
Im going, and I need after party buddies, how want to give a tour in LA, first time for me.
By the way those of you that was before in this events, can you tell me what is the overall itinerary of it?, is draws, more presentations, tours around gnomons etc…
After party? this is a user group meeting… but turning it into a party doesn’t sound half bad!
I would assume this user group meeting would unfold like the other (Underworld)?
-Small mountains of beer and pizza while rubbing elbows.
-Presentation of various artists, and shouting of questions during and after.
-Eyecandy galore.
-Another round of impromptu q&a at the end with everybody up front.
-Ryan draws a name of someone to win ZBrush, while using a large electrified stick to beat off anyone who wants to know when ZBrush 2.5 is coming out.
-Poking around to see what Beer and Pizza are left before taking off.
Gnomon had hosted an after party during those 3 day class sessions that was open to anyone. I’m not sure if they do the same after User Group Meetings?
Hey…anyone there in the know. I just got a “reminder” e-mail for this User Group Meeting, and man was the html screwed up. (on my side anyway)
They want those that rsvp’ed to do so again? (I’m guessing)
Through the rsvp page, or via e-mail?
I picked through and decoded the pirate message from hell. Apperently they have a bigger room to fit more people and I guess they do want you to RSVP again, but the link is just to the standard RSVP on the pixologic site so I guess just do it there… but I am not suuuuurreeeee
hi.
oh, sorry the html was screwed up. and aww, the pirate message from hell? really? oh well. so much for my attempts at humour.
the gist is just that we wanted to send a reminder, and just that if you weren’t coming you could tell us…we’ve moved the meeting to a bigger stage so all of you can be sure to fit.
hope that clears things up. i’ll check back here to see if any of you have any other questions.
thanks,
jill
I’ve just been informed there will probably NOT be DVDs on sale at the event. Gnomon’s got enough crew onhand to keep everything running smoothly, but not to man the merchandise booth on top of that. (What I said earlier is true of the weekend events, but not the evening ones.)
I’d still take this with a grain of salt – if it’s crowded enough to upgrade to the bigger room, that seems like a whole lot of impulse buys a business might want to facilitate. They may yet pull something together.
(take also my grains of salt with a grain of salt. this isn’t Gnomon’s first event, and they obviously know their market better than I do)
Thanks for the info Jill!
No re-neg on the rsvp, I’ll be there with bells on.
any one from san diego going to be there?
any one from Staten Island going to be there?
Captain Jack…Ryan?
Our own Ryan Kingslien dressed to the hilt for the ZBrush User Group Meeting. I’ll post some other pics up later tonight, plus some short vids of the tonights fire performers.
I tell ya, it was rockin’ tonight!! Thank you Gnomon, Pixologic & ILM!!!
agent you got aurick and pixolator also on cam ?
Will give me a good idea for the soon coming zcomic
Atleast I wont mix them up.
Not unless they were in the random crowd photo’s? I’ll get the fire vids up tonight, the mass amount of Corona I had at the Meeting has made me freaking tired, lol.
Thanks pixologic, Lee Jacobs here! From San frikking Diego! Thanks for the DvD’s gnomon! I am watching them tomorrow start to finish!
Thanks to Jill for setting the whole thing up too!
Hey guys!
Thanks for the event, and for going way overboard (Arrrrr!) on the pizza!
And thanks for putting up the vid’s of the pre-show entertainment. I got to see what I missed being stuck on Santa Monica Blvd.
Pirate hats off to the ILM guys for coming down and sharing their stuff with us!
~Mike D.
So no mention of any more zbrush 2.5 stuff? Bit quiet from the folks that were there. I expected folks to be raving. Either a gagging order is in place or there were only four of you there. Which one is it?
Cheers
Mike R
Since they started pre-production in 2004 they were using the latest Z-Brush build then… which means they were not using 2.5 which means there wasn’t even a mention of 2.5 besides us in the audience yelling for it… that’s it… no tricks… no NDA’s nothing happened :-/
