Great idea! First impressions are great too. Great!
So this is what you’ve been up to, huh? Great work Ryan; another brilliant tool for the community to take advantage of!
Thanks for the kind words guys. Ken McDonald has put together the bulk of the documentation by porting the ZBrush 1.55 manual to the Palette Reference here. Congrats on the great work, Ken.
I encourage everyone to get on there and add articles and tutorials.
abxy - This was definitly an undertaking and took a bit of time. Particularly since we wanted it to be an immediately useful tool for the community who could then eventually take over and grow it from there.
Hello all -
Knightmare put up a page about Projection Master so I went in and started adding content. Check it out here.
Please feel free to chime in and start adding content. I did a massive search on Projection Master in the forum and just started adding the things I thought important in the short time I had this morning. Remember, wikis are a community process. Experiment! Edit each other’s content, put your own up. The cool thing with wikis is they have a history to them. You can always go back to older versions. Just click the history tab along the top to see the version that Knightmare started with and the edits I made.

This sort of page can be protected at this place? I presume no
Where is the protected place if exist for normal user?
I have downloaded the Wiki Help.zip and when expanded to its folder (Wiki Help Folder") there are the two files a “Wiki Help.txt” and a “Wiki Help.zsc”.
I’m wondering just where to put the whole folder, the “Wiki Help Folder”, in the menu of folders in ZBrush. There are folders within folders and I’m not sure just where to drop the “Wiki Help Folder”. Any help…Thanks!

Frenchy - It was because there was a space before the text. This enables you to automatically put a table around a group of text.
Only syops can protect a page right now. However, as Ken told me it is likely to be in a future iteration of Mediawiki, the software that we use.
I’m not sure you can delete an image. I can delete it or you can contact [email protected] to do that as well. I will let you know on monday how that works.
Flow Joy-
I have created a wiki page with installation instruction for plugins here.
Why are most of the pages locked from editing? For example, I think the “

” before the sectoin “Creating Pixols” on the page Pixol is useless (at most you would need a single “
”), but I can’t remove it. Not to mention I might have a more valuable contribution that I wouldn’t be able add. It seems silly to have a bunch of pages that can’t be edited on a wiki… the general rule is to only protect things that absolutely need protection (such as the front page, or pages undergoing edit wars).

furrykef - You are absolutely right. However, because we are new to this and exploring the possibilities we did not open ALL our documentation to user editability as of yet. We are planning on changing this, however. We will meet to discuss this next week and see if it is feasible for us to open everything up to everyone. That is definetly the goal.
Right now, users can add content in the User Documentation Section. In the mean time you can add an article to the User Article Section.
Let me know your thoughts.
Ryan
Also, thank you for the suggestion. I have made the change.
Finally! A ZB-WIKI!!! I was wondering how ZBC would perform as a Wiki and so far, it’s lookin’ real good! (I thought it’d be in one of them wikicities, tho.) This would create a more organized topics rather than having to dig thru the forum for something obscure. Great idea! Will there be uploadable/downloadable Zscripts?
This would sure be a wiki I’d visit (and [edit] :P) everyday!
Very cool. Check it out at www.zbrush.info. Right now you can edit the user documentation section though the rest of the wiki is likely to open up soon.
Uploads and downloads are enabled, though file size is limited, of course.
Ryan
Hi, guys, can we have one of them class=“messagebox standard-talk” so we can make one of them boxes template like in wikipedia, for example:
I’m not sure where to put this kinda request, is there a feature request page in the wiki? (or some sort of such page?)
Thanks for opening the rest of the wiki, I’m sure everyone is thrilled to edit!
Btw, is the upload/download limited to certain files? And how big is the filesize limit? And how about updates? The other day I was thinking of uploading (to the forum) a set of alpha pack and then update them as my collection grows, but seems the wiki is a much viable option.
Also, what about license tagging? I was thinking of publishing these alphas under CC. (specifically, Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5)
Thank you for everything!
WOW - What a resource! This is fantastic - wait’ll my kids find out about this site!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
…“Tutorial Index” there is no section “Painting”
As we can’t add item,
I put my “How to paint with only the Smudge Brush” in a new Item “Painting” inside the Section Material & Texture
Can you make something for that ?
Ps And Dear Ryan can you underline on your first Post of this thread the words?
“Access the ZBrushWiki here” or Access the ZBrushWiki “here” :ex:
because nobody see that they must press on it!
Done.
Sorry for the over sight. We should have another version of the home page sometime next week. we got some good feedback that we will use to make it even easier to put stuff up and figure out where to put things.

Thanks Ryan sounds great, I can’t wait to start participating:)
…is always amazing
Hi guys,
I don’t mean to complain, and this is not a complaint. (I’m just afraid that it’d come out like a complaint) but there’s several pages on the zbinfo that links threads. It’s just that isn’t the point of a wiki is to deposit as much info as possible. It wouldn’t be very useful to browse/search a wiki only to get redirected to a forum. It’d have more incentive to search the forum in the first place instead… so… . . . yah…
Thanks.
