That’s not the point. Of course you could use a cloning plugin or technique but by having it as part of the decimation workflow when you use the plugin so that people don’t accidently permanently decimate their hard work. There should either be a compulsory warning that pops up before decimation or it automatically makes the new decimated version into a new tool just like when you use the unifed skin tool, for example.
It’s basically a safety feature that should be part of the plugin.

ehh… its like … makepolymesh 3d. just save your work before you decimate , appreciate the goodness, and dont complain about your own laziness :slight_smile: ā€˜so that people don’t accidently permanently decimate their hard work’ theres thousands of ways for someone new to zbrush to make it crash… save your work often, and def. before decimating. and oh yea… you can undu decimations…

I save the plugin in C:\Program Files\Pixologic\ZBrush3\ZStartup\ZPlugs…with the documentation folder and launch the zbrush …but i am not getting the DECIMATION MASTER in plugin menu…i am using zbrush 3.1…and window xp…plz…help…/…and i tried twice after lauch vcredist_x86.exe (or vcredist_x64.exe for 64-bit versions of Windows…wht shud i do…

Just in time, my school has a modeling competition, the winner has a model printed for free. I’m already testing the decimation master with great results I have a 12 million poly sculpture down to 1.2 million in Maya. Thanks

salman3dartist: what happens if you manually load the .zsc file ā€œDecimationMaster.zscā€ that you copied in the ZStartup/ZPlugs folder by going in the ZScript Menu > Load?
