What did you SAY to her??? Beautiful work as always Bas! Should be another top row!

Well, she hasn’t gotten any better looking. Hey Bas, I have been using your grooming brush and I like it.

Damn fine job sir…and all without those pesky external renders.

Hey thanks for the reply, glad you like it.
About grooming. I think the best way is to use the fibermesh sliders in the brush settings. Start with all sliders at zero and test them one by one. The brushmodifier-slider does the magnet or blowjob (hahaha).
I should like to have the ‘preserve length’ slider with a negative value too, just to shorten hairs. Also a way to add more subdivisions in some parts of the hair with a kind of slice brush.

This beauty! LOL
Great work Bas, a green fur then.
IMO, window on the background doesn’t help much. Decolorizes the whole scene a bit. A more redish SSS is needed. I know you’re trying to avoid sss-waxy looking and go for a more flemish classic view (Jan Van Eyck like)
A darker background (like the right one part) may work better.
BTW someone in pixologic team should pay some more attention on anti aliasing issues.

Great work Bas, she’s a looker  Keep it up!

Another Classic Bas…LUV IT…:+1:small_orange_diamond:)

Really enjoying the views about and concerning the new FiberMesh feature that are taking place within your thread also…:+1:…Haven’t tried your brush out yet, but will, the next time I experiment with FiberMesh…Thanks for Sharing the knowlage gained Bas…Much appreciated…

Glenn

Thanks for looking. The image is not perfect and came from doodling with fibers. I learned a lot about using the grooming-tools and had a lot of fun too.
Time for something else

Erasmus, I started this sculpt a while ago. Finished with fibers, bpr and combined the background (Holbein) with photoshop.
He lived in the Middle Ages and criticized the foolishness around him

Nice one Bas

Great one Bas, I repeat myself here, Bas is a great Flemish artist!
:+1:

Thanks! Fun to finish this one. Always remember him from the time before the Euro, good times…

If he knew he would use his special ink and write about it

really nice one, so greatly integrated in the painting… funny holder for the feather pen too  … hair and fur is wonderful, you really are master of fibres

Great works! Awesome skills with fibers!

Great one Bas, keep it up!

Hey thanks, glad you like it.
About fibers… I made that feather and wanted to move it to another place… I needed to merge it and lost (of course) the nice controls in the fibermenu. Maybe in the future there will be a better way for this. Going back to the controls after accepting and grooming should be great too… (I’m not a programmer ;))

Looks like painting! Great:+1:

Really fantastic piece all around! I would swear it was a painting. I just wish I could see a larger shot.

Hey Bas, Just checking in forums for first time in a long time. Wonderful image not only from the fibers but composition, lighting and modeling

Thanks! It was my intention to let it look like a painting. ZBrush is great for this kind of work.
Hey Tartan, that’s a long time ago :+1:
Here is another render, from the side this time. I added some more hair and did some work on the texture of his face.
