Pixel paint question...

Ok - I’m still relatively new to ZBrush. But I have been using 3DS Max and Photoshop for over 10 years. Anyway - I’ve been using the pixel paint and projection master technique of creating textures in Zbrush. Both of which are immensly useful and I find them very fun…

I was wondering if there is a way to smudge those textures that I’ve created (once they’ve been saved as textures) once they’re on the model - without going into photoshop? Sometimes all I want to do is smooth it out a bit or smudge an area with a brush that needs a little more detail.

Can you do this or do you have to make your image 2D?

Thanks for any help.

What you’d need to do is use Projection Master to drop the model, after which you can use the Smudge tool, Blur, and the other 2.5D stuff. Then pick the model up again.

you should download the Zapplink plugin if you don’t have it. As much as I loved projection master, I feel so much more at home with photoshops tools. And thanks to pixolator (spelling) I don’t have to use Zbrush’s interface unless I want to. The “live” link is one of the best things about Zbrush.
