pipe sculpting

hey hey,

just a quick question actually , how does one use the radial symmetry on a pipe?
when you activated it it looks like the picture i want it AROUND the circumference of the pipe…

hey there,

try to activate different axis (turn off x, turn on y and try etc.) at the symmetry menu…

hope, that helps

sorry but that doesnt work, that just moves the radial marks to different axis ., not around the outside of the pipe

anyone?

sorry to ask once more , can anyone assist?

so it looks like you have to sculpt on a straight piece of pipe first then deform it to the desired shape, which is a little awkward.
i was doing a guy with lots of pipes coming out of his head and using zspheres to create the pipes (and theres alot of them) and i was conforming them to each and his head etc and i then needed to sculpt a radial design around the circumference of the pipes and of course i found that you couldnt use the radial symetery, which is a little frustrating…

thanks
