Pigsy

Very very very very very very very very very very very…Gud work…Amazin :wink: :roll_eyes:

@tyrellcorp:
Thanks,i think what you said can,and what i did is sculpt in zbrush,generated a displacement map,then export the lower rez to maya,then apply a displacement map to the cloth,if your pc is powerful enough,you also can export the highrez model in maya,then test cloth simulation.
looking like skin may be because of you never sculpting?i think you can sculpt it looking like clothes:)

hehehe, i know what you mean with textures :slight_smile: i just cleared out 30 gigs from my hd and i should be good to use Zbrush to experiment with .

Just like to bump a question and this thread.

I know this was rendered in maya mental ray, but how are you getting nice glancing specular highlights from the rim light? Are you using a sampler info node, or some type of incidence shader?

Nice…glad to see some people out there still appreciate journey to the West

I like the mask that was added to show the reference to the monkey king series. VERY nice detail. I hope to do something like this in the future.

I grew up with my grandmother who read the whole Journey to the West series. I am a HUGE fan. I went berserk when the Forbidden Kingdom came out. Journey to the West is definitely underrated and needs to be expanded in the media.

I hate to plug another question here, but what materials are you using for this one, i know there’s probably an environment ball shader there for the reflections, but asides from the basic phong and blinn shaders, are you other custom shader, would you care to elaborate? Would you think maya’s native blinn and phong shaders better than the phong and blinn ones in the mental ray dropdown list?

Thanks.

Hi KonginChains:
Thank you for your reply.i did use the environment ball for refection,except the skin shader,i used the simple blinn shader and x-material of mentalray,i think the maya’s native blinn and phong shader is the same with the ones in mentalray,but maya’s native ones have more options and more convienient

Could you please share more about the cloth? It looks so real. Did you sculpt it or use dynamics? I am trying to learn cloth dynamics right now but I cant get it to look correct.

Sorry I didn’t see ur question,I use dynamics,cloth system,I used a simple cloth mesh for simulation,and skin wrap the highrez cloth model to the simple one,that works fine for me:)
